The history:
Independent Film & Television Production Company | Based in New York City
Litebreak Studios is a New York–based independent film and television production company founded by filmmaker and DGA 1st Assistant Director Ian Van der Werff. We specialize in developing and producing cinematic stories that merge minimalist visual design with thematic depth, spanning narrative film, television, branded content, and beyond.
At its core, Litebreak is a director-driven studio—built for creators who value storytelling as craft and precision as art.
With roots in both indie cinema and studio-level productions, Litebreak Studios brings together years of on-set experience, a deep understanding of production logistics, and a clear creative voice. Our team has worked across high-profile studio films, prestige television, and award-winning short-form content, delivering projects from concept to final cut.
Whether you're developing a feature film, launching a commercial campaign, or bringing a new IP to life, we offer end-to-end creative collaboration that keeps the vision intact while executing at a professional scale.
Litebreak Studios was launched in 2025 as a home for smart, grounded storytelling across formats. Our founder, Ian Van der Werff, brings over a decade of experience working on productions such as Feud: Capote vs. The Women, The Crowded Room, Transformers: Bumblebee, A Wrinkle In Time, and indie feature films across the U.S. and abroad.
As a director, Ian’s short films—including the viral Relationship Deli—have reached millions, with multiple feature and television projects currently in development under the Litebreak banner.
